Mthobisi Ndlovu Famously known as Mthobisi Mutant, Mr Mutant or Mutant for
short is a Durban based Actor, Director, Song Writer and Hip-hop artist who goes
by the stage name of MT Kiddo.
Mthobisi Ndlovu was born in Mpumalanga (Nelspruit) and after losing his mother
at the age of 3 was taken by his father and raised in KwaZulu-Natal (Durban) .he
struggled fitting in with the rest of the kids and was often seen and known as the
silent type throughout his primary years he progressed to high-school with the
determination of being known not only as the silent type.
but as the creative one
which lead him to uncover his hidden talents he found interest in Essays since
they gave him an opportunity to create stories and express him self freely, the
fascinating of poems was a turning point for him being amazed at the possibility of
being able to write a story that can be catchy and rhythm he tried writing some
poems on his free time but they didn’t feel complete he thought that poems are
not for him but later discovered the fine arts of hip hop which had similar
concepts of story telling with rhymes and he took a shot at it in 2019 and on the 3
November 2019 he released his 1st single titled Demo Derby he followed up with 9
more singles.
2020 came with the outbreak of Corona and he was forced to find other means of
entertaining himself which introduced him to Youtube where he got inspiration of
creating films without massive budget or any budget at all he spent most of his
days watching in wonder of how these teenagers were producing these interesting
and fun videos, he began to do some research on how to film yourself, write
scripts and edit your videos throughout the whole year and in 2021 he found
himself on a new path leading him to the world of film where he started directing
and filming in his neighborhood which lead him to be driven by passion of story
telling and watching his final product with family, friends and even strangers.
filming gave him a platform to combine all his talents and showcase them I’m the
form of cinematography thus creating 2 Short Films and 1 Music video he claims
that his hip-hop days are not over yet but it’s clear that filming has taken over his
life more than singing
